Abstract

It is the aim of this article to contribute to setting a place for the bodily dimension in social education competencies, based on the understanding that the most important task of social education is to guide the individuals in their process of becoming full citizen. Throughout my career as a trainee social educator I could observe the unrest and suffering caused by the lack of motivation of individuals, as well as the body wounds that remain on vulnerable bodies.
This is the reason why I tried to inquire an approach to a theory of body education, from the way in which we can dwell our bodies and how we can create spaces for the individual to develop experience. This approach should to share education practice with the knowledge acquire through the subject’s personal experience to allow the last one commit mistakes so that the individual can to come up with new outlooks and assume an active role.
From the body, experienced as the backbone, we reach the final argument of this work: We need to live life in first person, through our own experiences, in order to be able to offer another person the necessary space for mistakes and new perspectives to become an active individual.
