The study is based on the constructivist paradigm and model of resilience in order to approach the understanding of the subjective experience of the loss of functionality and the need for help, based on the experience of the social subject: how is perceived, what it means, how is faced and readjusted to preserve a dignified and meaningful life. The results show that people who manifest resilient traits are adjusted to the loss of functionality satisfactorily, reorienting or reorganizing their life projects. The creation of listening devices and comprehensive support can help develop resilience processes.
