Abstract

The participation of students in teaching learning processes is the key to move towards a more democratic and inclusive educational system. This article aims to describe and analyse the results of research carried out in a secondary school around students’ participatory processes, and try to respond which kind of participation is carrying out an institute that works for all students to take a leading role. Specifically, I have analysed three educational experiences based on innovative methodologies, which take into account aspects to improve democratic and inclusive learning opportunities. These experiences are the brigades of teachers’ support, service learning and cooperative work. This research has been developed from a qualitative methodology approach, and focuses on a single case study. Regarding the results, we have observed that in order to encourage the participation of all students in the life of the centre, it is needed that the educational practices guarantee certain curricular, organizational and methodological aspects which place the students at the centre of their learnings and ensure democratic and inclusive processes for all.
